The Competition

Location

National University of Music Bucharest – Strada Știrbei Vodă 33, București 03016, Romania. The University is located in the very centre of Bucharest, 5 min. walk from Romanian Athenaeum, near the Cismigiu Park and 10 from Piata Romana Metro station.

Final round / Award gala
The Competition’s final round symphony concert and award gala will take place on July 27 at Plaza Romania Mall, Movieplex Hall n. 8. Movieplex Hall Address: Bd. Timișoara, Nr. 26, Sector 6, București,

For attendees of the Competition only: the arrival day is July 24. The general meeting starts at 07:00 pm for all competitors and consists of the welcoming ceremony and information about competition plus the draw of lots.

Repertoire

The Competition repertoire will be divided by rounds, accordingly:

  • 1st round
    Haydn Symphony no. 100 in G Major – first movement, Mozart “Magic Flute” Overture, Beethoven – “Egmont” Overture.
  • 2nd round
    Mendelssohn Symphony No. 3 in A minor, Op. 56, “The Scottish” – first movement, Strauss “Die Fledermaus” Overture, Dvorak Symphony no. 7 – first movement.
  • 3rd round
    Sibelius Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 47 – first movement – Soloist Simina Croitoru, Debussy Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune
  • Finale – upon drawing of lots
    Enescu 1st Rhapsody, Sibelius Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 47, Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 4 in F minor, Op. 3 (in full).

The participants must provide their own scores.
